How do Ads catch your eyes?

For starters, I searched “best golf club sets Today”

I decided to Google Searches on brands and company that I buy from or am interested in for golf. Before I started I had a variety of brands or websites in mind that would most definitely be high up in search, surprisingly I was shook by what I found through these fives searches. Below I gave my in-depth opinion and thoughts on each of the five searches, also one of my favorite Ads for golf that really stood out to me. All of the titles are the same or similar to what I searched throughout the five I picked out.

For the top three results I was genuinely surprised to not see companies like Titleist or Ping in top searches. I recognized brands like Callaway, Cobra, and TaylorMade which are some of if not the best brands for golf clubs so I was glad to see those in the top searches. I recognized the third search “Impact Golfers” because I just recently bought a 54 degree wedge off there, which comes at no surprise because they have great offers and run deals. At the top of the search you can see that is shows certain brands that have sales on golf clubs right now which is something people love to see which is very smart by the company for showing that instead of a different set with no sale.

Next, I searched “best performing golf balls”

The top three searches that came up were golfballs.com, Amazon, and oncoregolf.com. I recognized the first two searches because I’ve bought golf balls from each of the websites, but I have never heard of OnCore Golf before. Each of these website contain an endless variety of golf ball brands from cheapest to most expensive. At the top you can see that Callaway and Titleist are the top golf balls that are searched or bought on the web.

Next, I searched “best golf apparel”

I was completely surprised by the results that showed up. I have heard of the company “Golf Digest” but wasn’t expecting it to be at the top. I have also never heard of “Men’s Health” or “MyGolfSpy”. I was honestly expecting companies like Dicks Sporting Goods or PGA Tour Shop to be in the top three but they were towards the middle or bottom of the first page. Golf Digest currently has sales on golf apparel around their shop and gives free shipping to first time users who sign up using their email. There was also a section called “Popular golf clothing brands” Where it showed all of the top golfing brands that are created which really caught my eye under the top three searches.

Next, I decided to search “best golf courses in Wisconsin”

When I searched this, I was expecting just a list of golf courses by their own personal website. Instead three websites showed up with amazing lists of some of these courses in Wisconsin. I recognized Golf pass instantly when it showed me the search, because my friends and I look at that website when we want to go somewhere new, same goes for GolfDigest. I didn’t recognize the third search “golf.com” because usually when I look up golf courses like the way I did usually the first and third ones show up or just golf courses within a 50 mile radius of me. I ended up looking into the third search to give some insight on it, and I absolutely loved what they had to offer. They gave a perfect description on the top 20 golf courses in the state of Wisconsin. I will most definitely be using this website this summer when I’m searching for somewhere new to golf.

Above the text here I placed of the best Ads that I’ve seen by a golf company. It’s a simple Ad that shows a golfer on a course, a golf set, and description that gives context to the golf clubs and what they do and how they’ll improve the younger generations golf experience.

Next, I searched up “best golfing gloves”

I was not surprised by the websites and categories that showed up. At the top you can see that it shows four different brands that are all sold on Amazon Golf Gloves, I was a little suprised to not see Dicks Sporting Goods or Callaway Golf Shop, but people nowadays tend to go to Amazon to buy this type of product for golfing because it’s the cheapest and safest option to best satisfy your wants for a golfing glove. For the second option it gives you a category of the top seven brands for golf gloves with a tiny description of what they’re trying to show consumers what their glove has to offer. I find that very helpful because it gives you options and certain key words in text drive consumers to those products, I find that as a very smart tactic to draw people in. For the third it shows you what other people search that is similar to your very own search to help you find something if the first two sections didn’t satisfy you, which is helpful for people who don’t understand search engines as well.

Conclusion

In conclusion, this gave me great insight on what consumers tend to draw towards when searching for activities, golf apparel, or golf equipment. At the obvious end of it, people tend to always click on the options that show prices, pictures, or reviews with it because it catches peoples eyes more; however clicking on the web links that have neither tend to have better options and wider variety of information that you won’t see on the options that show prices or pictures. For example, when I searched up “best golf courses in Wisconsin” I found so many courses that I’ve never heard of which awesome details about each course that even brought me to that companies website. Overall I think this really helped me understand how these search engines work and how useful they are when searching for specific sections for golfers.

  3. It’s cool to see your Google searches on golf brands and courses! Your insights on what catches your eye, like prices and reviews, are spot on. It’s interesting how sometimes the options without these features can offer even better choices.
